TPS65987DDK: Replacing TPS65987 with TPS25751 for DP alt mode

Part Number: TPS65987DDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25751, TPS65987

Tool/software:

Hi All,

I am doing another spin of a design that currently uses the TUSB546 and the TPS65987. Since the TPS65987 has gone NRND, the TPS25751 is the recommended alternate. However, I can't see any recommendations on how to hook the CTL0/CTL1/FLIP pins of the TUSB546 up to the TPS25751. Is this even a supported configuration? If so, is there a guide or an EEPROM generation tool that will help me pick the GPIOs required to make this configuration work?

I tried downloading the GUI composer for windows, and it installed....but i can't seem to run it...is this a common issue?

If i'm choosing the wrong part to marry with the TUSB546, please help guide me as to the best (currently active) part to use.

Thanks, Ivan

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a direct alternate mode capable replacement available on TI.com at this time, and will keep you informed on any new updates for this portfolio. If you have more questions, please reach out to your local TI sales representative for information.

The TPS25751 does not support DisplayPort Alternate modes.

    Best Regards,

    Aya Khedr
