Dear Team,
We are planning to redo the chemical ID identification process for a 3.7V, 1000mAh LiPo battery using the following method:
Relax → Charge → Relax → Discharge → Relax.
We have some questions related to this process and would appreciate your prompt assistance, as we only have 4 days to complete the testing and deliver the board to the customer.
1. Initial Relaxation Phase:
We have configured the following parameters:
-
Termination Voltage: 2990mV
-
Taper Current: 70mA
-
Design Voltage: 3700mV
-
Design Capacity: 1000mAh
-
Learned Capacity: 37mAh
-
We have also calibrated the battery voltage, current, and pack voltage using a 3.6V battery.
During the initial relaxation step for Chem ID identification:
-
The
LStatusis 0x04 -
After some time, the
RESTbit becomes 1
Is this approach correct for initial relaxation? Are there any other register values we should verify to ensure a successful start of the relaxation cycle?
2. Charging Behavior and FC Bit:
-
We observed that the Full Charge (FC) bit did not go high at 4150mV, even though we expected it to, as this is our configured voltage.
-
The FC bit eventually went high after some time.
-
Over-voltage protection (OVP) is set to 4170mV, but the device did not automatically cut off charging.
Should we manually disconnect charging when taper current reaches 70mA?
What should the LStatus be after the post-charge relaxation phase?
3. Post-Discharge Relaxation:
Could you please confirm the expected LStatus value after the relaxation phase following discharge?
We appreciate your quick response on this to help us stay on schedule.
