BQ51013C: QI2 resonance frequency

Part Number: BQ51013C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013B

Tool/software:

Hi

I am designing with BQ51013C which is QI 2 compliant IC. The frequency referenced there are 100khz, but should it not be 360khz since the QI 2 uses a higher resonance frequency

Is this an old datasheet for BQ51013B , and the BQ51013C datasheet is copied from BQ51013B.

For example in chapter 9.2.1.2.2 Series and parallell resonance capacitor selection should I change fs parameter from 100khz to 360khz in my calculations and test frequency?

  • Hi Kr

The BQ51013C will support BPP (5W) protocol and cannot configure for 360kHz.  Tuning to 100kHz is correct.

What can you tell me about your product? Do you plan to Qi certify your unit?

  • Hi

No, will not do any certification for QI, we develop our own portable products with QI receivers to cahrge small li po batteri, and we develop our own chargers whch can cahrge up to 32 receivers simlatenously. As long as they work with each other we dont need to guarasntee complaince with 3rd party IQ chargers vendors. Its all inhouse. But thanks, as you say its only the MPP protocol that will require 360khz, and we only will use the BPP prototcol anyway.

Do you know where to find the FOD calibration tool, it says it should be under TOOLS and SOFTWARE, but did not find it

  • Hello

I will contact you regrading FOD.

The FOD transmitter is not available any longer, have a couple of options to look at.
