TPS25751: VBUS switch at sink side

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Customer have question on need of VBUS switch.

A use-case is 5V/3A (USB Type-C current) sink only, and BC1.2 sink only.

In this use-case, does VBUS switch is needed on compliance? Or is it just a recommendation for protection in sink use-case?

If sink case doesn't need VBUS switch, customer wants to use TPS25751S without VBUS switch instead of TPS25751D.

Customer need to know source capability, so it is good to use TPS25751 to detect both Type-C current and BC1.2,

Best regards,

Hayashi
