BQ27220EVM-744: Trouble connecting BQ27220EVM-244 with BQstudio using EV2400

Part Number: BQ27220EVM-744
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, , EV2400

Tool/software:

I'm working with the BQ27220EVM-744 and using an EV2400 interface to communicate with bqStudio, but I'm encountering a consistent issue where bqStudio shows “No Acknowledge from Device.” I’ve connected a 3.9V battery to the PACK+ and PACK− terminals of the EVM. When the EV2400 is disconnected, the SCL and SDA lines read 0V, but when it’s connected, they rise to approximately 3.19V, which I assume is due to the EV2400’s internal 3.3V pull-ups. The EV2400 is properly recognized by bqStudio, and the drivers are installed. I’ve verified all connections, and the PACK voltage is stable, but the gauge does not respond. I would appreciate clarification on whether any special startup condition is required (e.g., waking the gauge from shutdown), if the BQ27220EVM requires a specific jumper setting to enable I²C communication. Additionally, are there any suggestions for manually initiating communication using the Advanced Comm tool in bqStudio to test response from the gauge? Any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
