BQ27542EVM: bq27542-G1: SOC decreased by 6-9% within 6 days.

Part Number: BQ27542EVM

Tool/software:

Hi TI experts,

Using Li-ion polymer, the battery voltage is about 3.77V, and in full sleep mode, the battery pack consumes about 60uA (without device). What conditions would cause the SOC to drop by 6-9% within 6 days?
Thanks

  • Hello Iris,

The current consumption of the battery gauge is 21uA in full sleep mode, if you are seeing SOC dropping slowly like this it could be due to the battery electrical characteristics, internal leakage current of the cell or a external leakage current for a different device within the circuit path. Another possibility could be setting up the battery gauge incorrectly such as chemID, design parameter, calibration and etc and I would recommend looking into those values as well.

    Thank you,
    Alan
