BQ25750: BTST pins Diode selection

Part Number: BQ25750

Tool/software:

Hello There,

Today a colleague reviewed my schematic, and he noticed that I forgot the diodes on the BTST pins.

Now I wonder if these diodes are necessary since table 6-1 in the datasheet indicates that the DRV_SUP pin functions as a gate drive supply, in my schematic I use the output of REGN as a gate drive supply.

If these diodes are necessary, special requirements need to be taken into account such as: the current through the diode, do they have to be schottky's, etc. The datasheet unfortunately does not go into this in more detail.

I am looking forward to your answers.

Kind regards,

Teun Noordkamp

  • Hello Teun,

Yes, these diodes are necessary for the BQ25750 to operate.

do they have to be schottky

Yes, the diode have to be schottky.

The EVM uses the V1FM10-M3/H diode for the BTST diodes. I recommend making sure the that the reverse current through the diode is less than 100uA.

Let me know if this answers your question.
