UCC28180: Three phase boost based PFC

Hello,

I am working on 500W three phase boost based PFC design. Rectifier with Six diodes are used for input AC rectification. Switching frequency: 65KHz, CCM mode, Output of PFC is 800V.

I found below three controllers suitable for this application.

1. UCC28180

2. UCC2854

3. UCC2817

Please let me know which one of the above controller is best suitable for the application, which can handle better AC line voltage fluctuations, better dynamic performance and THD control.

Please let me know pros and cons of each PWM controller.

We recommend UCC28180 as this is newer. performance wise, they are similar.

Hello,

UCC28180 does not have AC input voltage sense, it means voltage feedforward is not available. In case of AC input voltage variation, dynamic response of the loop will be slower than other devices (UCC2817, UCC2854) which has input AC voltage sensing?

That is true. UCC28180 doesn't have feedforward feature. Are you expecting the Vin to change very fast? If you have to have that feature, I suggest to use UCC2818 instead of UCC2817.
