Hi team,
Customer cannot connect BQstudio on their PC with BQ76952EVM.
They only have 1 green LED lit and no device under USB port. How to make it work? Thanks.

Hi Kian,
The 3 LEDs are connected to an LDO that gets it's input from the MSP430x on the EVM. All 3 should light up immediately once the USB is connected from the EVM to the PC. Can they check their connection/make sure it's plugged in all the way? If there is no device under USB port, there could be something wrong with their cable.
Here is an image of me connecting one to the PC without anything else connected to the EVM.

Alexis
Hi Alexis,
I know the three LEDs will light up if it works properly. They have tried changing the USB cable. See below video, the two LEDs turn off after 1-2s. I wonder if it is caused by not installing driver properly.

Hi Kian,
Are they also opening bqStudio when the 2/3 LEDs stop? I haven't seen this occur before, but I'm not sure if this a driver installation issue as all 3 green LEDs should still work without any drivers installed. Were they seeing this issue without installing bqStudio?
Have they tried reinstalling the drivers to see? Are they able to measure the voltage seen at the 3 LEDs and the input/output of the LDO?
Best Regards,
Alexis
Hi Kian,
I'm glad you were able to test the board with your PC to confirm. If this is a FW/Driver update needed on the computer, unfortunately there isn't an exact method to best go about it.
I found a previous post here that may help. I understand that the user does not have a separate EV2400, however, the MCU on the EVM is programmed with EV2400 firmware to be used with bqStudio so it may still help.
Do you know if they are using Windows 10 or 11 and how they are planning to update the FW as well?
Here is also the link to the EV2400 Firmware Files that may also be able to help update the FW as needed.
Best Regards,
Alexis
Hi Alexis,
Thanks for your reply.

They have window 10 now.
I found a previous post here that may help.
I let them update the EVM FW following the chapter 3 in EV2400 UG. It shows same error as the thread you sent to me.

Hi Kian,
Are they able to try and update the EVM MCU through another PC potentially? Did they also try using the -s option to update?
Here are some previous posts that may also help:
1. EV2400: Windows 10: not recognized
2. EV2400-USB Driver Issue
