TPS2663: About reverse polarity protection. Differences from TPS25942.

Part Number: TPS2663

Tool/software:

I am trying to use the TPS26632 as in the attached circuit.
Will this circuit be able to protect against reverse polarity connection of the input power supply?

With the TPS25942 I used previously,
to protect against reverse polarity,
it was necessary to insert a signal diode into the GND terminal path as in the attached circuit diagram.
Is this signal diode unnecessary with the TPS26632?

If a signal diode is not necessary with the TPS26632, why is that?
Is it because the TPS26632 has an absolute rating of up to -60V?
