BQ2980: Power consumption much higher than data sheet max ratings

Part Number: BQ2980

Tool/software:

We are using the BQ298018 and use 3.5V. After starting the normal mode, quick high state on PACK+, we measure about 15uA current additional consumption versus not using this battery protection. According to the data sheet, we should expected about 4-6uA. Any ideas how to handle this?

we are using the Power Profiler Kit II, a very precise tool for measurements.

Hi,

What's the leakage current of your FET gate to source? Had you measured the current without the DMN part number?

It's highly recommended to use a low gate leakage FET (similar or lower) to the one on the TI EVM (IGSS < 1uA) to obtain low current consumption.
