TPS7A20: Power dissipation for TPS7A20

Part Number: TPS7A20

Tool/software:

Hi team

we would like to know power dissipation, if Vin 3.3 and vout is 2.8V, Iout = 65mA

as per datasheet formula, we got 0.0325,

But component failing at 65 degree.

Please provide the siggestions

  • Hi Sathya,

    Power dissipation (Pd) = (VIN - VOUT) x I_LOAD = (3.3 - 2.8) x 0.065 = 0.0325 W

But component failing at 65 degree.
    1. What do you mean by failing? What behavior do you see?
    2. Is 65 deg the ambient temperature or the device case temperature?
    3. What package are you using (DBV, DQN, YCK or YCJ)?

    Regards

    Ishaan
