Hello Team, 

We found new opportunity of LMR60440-Q1  in Hyundai Mobis domain gateway. 

My customer requests schematic review as below draft. Could you please support?

She is asking if they can use 1uH while the recommended part is 1.5uH in the datasheet.

Thank you in advance. 

- Vin <36V

- Vout : 3.3V

- Iout : 4A

- The PCB size is limited, so external components needs to be small if possbile. Please recommend if TI has smaller solution.

    Hi Kenneth,

    If board space is limited, I would suggest using the fixed 3.3V version of LMR60440, this way can save on components for the FB divider.

    I would suggest sticking with the 1.5uH, the 1uH is smaller and will have larger current ripple compared to the 1.5uH.

    Please ensure that the output capacitance doesn't derate much, see it is a 25V rated cap but don't know the part number so can't check the derating curve.

    Other than that, looks good.

    Hello Dino, thank you for your help. From the recommended external component table, Cout is 20uF rated capacitance. I guess it would be okay to use 22uF rated capacitance with 25V.

    If the derated capacitance is 20uF then that would be fine.
