Dear Team,

Greetings!

I am Sonika from Applied Electro Magnetics Pvt. Ltd. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems for the railway, defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors.

We are currently working with the UCC28951 controller IC and referring to the provided reference design on the site. However, our application requires a power supply design with the following specifications:

  • Input Voltage: 100V

  • Output Voltage: 24V

  • Output Current: 42A

To meet these requirements, we would like to understand which parameters and component values in the reference design should be modified. Your guidance in adapting the design to suit our specifications would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello,

If you change the input power and or output power requirements.  It will affect almost every component on your design.  So, depending on how much the design varies from the reference design you might need to change everything.

Could you tell me the input and output power requirements of the reference design you are referring too?

    Regards,

  • Dear Team,

    Greetings,

The reference design supports an input voltage range of 370V to 410V DC and delivers a regulated 12V DC output, with an output current capacity ranging from 1 mA to 50 A.

    Best Regards

    Sonika

  • Hello,

Since you are designing for different input and output power requirements you will be required to change every component on the design.  The following link will bring you to an application note that goes through the step by step design process of a PSFB using the UCC28951.  There is also a link to an excel design tool that uses the same calculations.   You can use this information to do a custom design.
