TPSM828301: What the defference between TPSM82811/2 to TPSM828301/2

Part Number: TPSM828301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM82811,

Tool/software:

Hi all,

I think this is before release, but let me check the difference between TPSM82811/2 and TPSM828301/2.

Are there any other clear differences besides the following? I feel they are similar devices.

TPSM82811/2: Power supply module with spread spectrum function, frequency can be set, FPWM/PSM mode can be selected

TPSM828301/2: Hiccup reset function when OCP is detected, PWM/PSM mode can be selected with Mode pin

  • Hello,

The most important difference is the control topology and the different applications both the families are targeted for.

TPSM82830x has DCS whereas TPSM8281x has fixed-frequency peak current mode.

TPSM82830x can be chosen if the application does not demand fixed-frequency and targets good load transient performance. Whereas, TPSM8281x for applications that need a fixed-frequency operation and also if it needs to be synced to an external common frequency.

And then of course the other feature differences you identified earlier.

    Hope that helps you!

    Thanks,

    Febin
