TPS25940:

Part Number: TPS25940

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I’m working with the TPS25940 for short-circuit protection. I wanted to confirm — the EN and FLT pins are used to control and monitor overcurrent or short-circuit events, right? In our case, if we use one IC for multiple ports, and a fault occurs, will it shut down all ports? Or is there a way to configure it so only the faulty port shuts down and the others keep working independently?

Best regards,

Viraja

  • Hi Viraja,

So indirectly FLTb will go low when real short circuit happens. EN pin can be used to restart the device (without auto-retry).

In our case, if we use one IC for multiple ports, and a fault occurs, will it shut down all ports?

No, it will only shutdown the port through which the high current passed. You can implement external logic from all eFuse to monitor FLTb and if any one goes low, pull EN low for all the ports.

    Best Regards,
