TPS2663: TP26630 PGOOD and nFLT

Part Number: TPS2663

Tool/software:

Hello,

I'm trying to understand the differences between PGOOD and nFLT signals. I believe PGOOD is asserted while VIN is above PGth setting and nFLT is set when OVC condition is set, accompanied by device shutdown. Is this correct? I'm thinking PGOOD is best when fed into the first stage regulator EN. How about nFLT? What is a common use for that in applications at the board and system level, aside from LED indicator?

Thanks,

Wilson

  • Hello Wilson,

PGOOD is for EN downstream DC-DC converter. It will go high when FETs are fully enhanced indicating completing of start-up.

/FLT is usually used for debug and to report fault. It can be connected to MCU to indicate /FLT

    Thanks
