TPS2596: TPS259621 Current Limit lower than Set Current Limit

Hi,

I am using TPS259621 in cascade mode. Vin  = 5V Ilim = 0.1A Please see below for schematic details.

When I measure my current limit, it is only .030A (30mA). Can you please let me know what is wrong with the circuit.

    Hi Patel,

    You are operating the device beyond its current limit capabilities, so unexpected behavior is possible. Can you increase the ILIM and check again.

    Let me know if it still doesn't work.

    I will test at specified resistor value and let you know. 

    Is it continuous current limit ? Is there a continuous current limit that limit the current less than 0.100A and Min Vin of 5V?

    The device constantly monitors the current and when it exceeds the set limit, it performs the OCP. Here it doesn't monitor for current less than 0.1A but the current monitor circuitry accuracy is not enough to detect the 30mA current accurately. 

    Vin can be lower than 5V. You set the EN resistive ladder such than when voltage is above set threshold, EN will get logic high.
