LM706A0-Q1: Maximum continuous current

This depends on the ambient temperature, switching frequency and the thermal resistance of your PCB to IC. With our EVM, the max current is around 6A at 105C ambient temp with the switching frequency was set at 400kHz.

But Webench is not allowing to set switching frequency to 400 kHz , and it is accepting values between 200 to 240kHz

It is my guess that setting the output voltage at 12V causes the junction temperature at full load and switching at 400kHz to exceed 150C limit. Webench is recognizes that and is limiting the switching frequency to 200kHz. 

From my experience using the LM70880-Q1 EVM, 48V to 12V @5A output with a Fsw=400kHz will not hit TSD at Ta = 125C.
