BQ25601: BQ25601 can't charge BQ40Z50 pack after shutdown

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

We are using BQ25601 with a battery pack that includes BQ40Z50. When the pack enters shutdown (due to discharge), BQ25601 is unable to start charging.

However, if we set  BQ25601 EN_TERM = 0 and reduce the pre-charge current to 60mA, charging starts

Why does this happen?
Is there any known limitation or special configuration needed when using BQ25601 with a BQ40Z50-based pack?
