Tool/software:
The LP2981AIM5-5.0 is End of Life
According to PDN 20221011001.3, it states that LP2981AIM5-5.0/NOPB is the recommended replacement but they are not pin to pin compatible. Is this correct? Is there a difference other than RoHS?

Hey Dan,
Thank you for question!
These devices have the same pinout and specifications; the difference is that NOPB stands for no PB meaning no lead. Can you explain a bit more about the not pin to pin compatibility and some issues that you are facing with the LP2981AIM5-5.0/NOPB device?
Best regards,
McKyla
McKyla,
thank you for the quick reply. I was referring to the PDN. It states that there is no pin-to-pin match. I was concerned that it wasn't the same pin out. If the only change is RoHS / NOPB, then we can make this work for our application.

McKyla,
I just wanted to confirm that the RoHS / NOPB variant is a drop-in replacement.
Hey Dan,
Thank you again for your question, this is an error on our side. These would be considered pin to pin.
Thank you again for your patience here.
