42A/phase is really high. Recommendation is to consider a multiphase design at that current level. Of course, it depends on thermals, component selection, etc. The controller is not the main limitation here.

Two phases is possible with the LM5146 voltage-mode controller, but it's an outer current loop and thus not accurate per-phase sharing like a conventional current-mode controller.
If 80V max Vin is adequate, take a look at the LM5137 2-phase EVM setup for 12V/20A/400kHz. For 42A, you might even consider 4 phases. See here as an example:
