Customers have encountered the following problems using Gauge IC BQ40Z50RSMR-R2

1.The battery percentage reading is inaccurate.

2. The Gauge IC BQ40Z50RSMR-R2 needs to be recharged and woken up each time the battery is plugged in or removed.

3. Under what circumstances will the XCHG, XDSG, ASCDL, ASCCL, AOLDL, and CTOS flags trigger?

Hello Gareth,

There could be multiple reasons why the gauge is innacurate. Some common issues:
1. Improper learning cycle
2. Improper settings like ChemID, data memory settings
3. BOM/HW
If you remove the battery, you need to connect a charger to wake up the gauge. See Technical reference manual
There is multiple reasons why the DSG & CHG will turn off, especially if protections are getting triggered. The other flags here are protections.
