Hi,

I have used TPSM63610RDFR DC DC Converter in one of my designs to generate 28V to 8.5V. But, now, I have a requirement for 28V to 26V conversion instead of 28V to 8.5V conversion. Since TPSM63610 only supports output voltage upto 20V, this cannot be used further in my design. So, for the same, kindly suggest any pin to pin footprint compatible DC DC converter (height restriction: 4mm), in place of TPSM63610 DC DC Buck convertor, which can meet my design requirements.

Also, please suggest EMI filters (IC), that can be used at the output of this DC DC Convertor to handle the switching noise.

Hi Sahil,

We do not have any buck modules that can support a 26V output. The other option is to go for a converter (inductor is not integrated). How much load current are you looking for?

Also, can you tell me what the application is? I don't see a 26V rail that commonly.

As per my design, I require a converter for 28V to 26V. I am having a load current of 3A. Also, if going for converter, kindly suggest EMI filter that can be used at output that can support the voltage and current requirements as listed above.

Hi Sahil,

You can have a look at LMR60430 : https://www.ti.com/product/LMR60430-Q1

This is a 36V, 3A device with features like FPWM operation and spread spectrum for better EMI performance. Let me know if this works for you or if you need other suggestions.

About the EMI filter, the output of buck does not contribute much to the EMI since the voltage and current there are continuous. Typically filters are placed at input to reduce conducted EMI. Here is an app-note regarding filter selection for that : https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snva489c/snva489c.pdf

For reducing radiated EMI, keeping the SW node copper area small is important. If that alone does not work to meet the standard, you can try placing an RC snubber at the SW node. I would suggest having placeholders for snubber components and populating them later if they are found to be needed.

Hi Niranjan,

LTM8054 does not support output voltage of 26V. Can you pls suggest anything more relevant to the requirement: 28V to 26V conversion and load current of 3A.

Hi Sahil,

This is a newer device which could be why the Webench model is not ready yet.

You can use the LMR51450 in Webench for component selection. It is from the same family as LMR51435, with only the current limit being different.

Hi, Nirajan,

In webench, max output voltage supported for LMR51450 is 24V, while in datasheet it is mentioned as 28V (recommeded operating condition not absolute maximum). Can you pls clarify the same?

Hi Sahil,

I am not sure why it is restricting to 24V, but datasheet is what should be followed. So you can use it up to 28V output.

Also, in Webench, once the design is created for a 24V output, you can change the feedback resistors to bring it to 26V. However, please double check all component selections with the datasheet recommendation.
