Tool/software:

We are using BQ40Z50-r1 IC in our 4S1P battery pack design.

We are soldering the battery to board from negative point to most positive point. during that time the SUV,PF and CUV all bits are triggering and prevent the battery from charging.

After giving PF clear in bqstudio it is able to charge and no fault occurs .Why it is triggering?

Whether this because i have enabled the Protection configuration and Enabled Protection A,B ,So sudden Spikes cause the failure. Kindly help us out to solve the problem.

Hello Max,

You are right that sudden spikes will cause protection and PF to trigger. However, if the part is already shutdown because you are connecting the battery for the first time, then it shouldn't even power up until you connect a charger. Try connecting the following:

Connect battery
Connect charger (PACK+)
Check

After clearing ,after sometime of charging and discharging, when kept in idle case at some batteries PF is triggering, once reset is given,it get cleared.
