Could you please recommend a high-side switch with low quiescent current and low power consumption capable of switching on and off, along with diagnostic features for the load?

The TPS1H000-Q1 is a possible solution. The lowest current limit that can be set is 50mA.

Hi Rishika,

This component is not suitable for our application due to its 5mA operating current, which could result in inaccurate current measurements when using the INA228 for load current sensing.

Kindly selecting a component with a lower quiescent or operating current to ensure accurate current readings via the INA228.

Alternatively, I recommend considering other options such as the TPS2HCS10-Q1, which operates with separate VDD and VBAT supplies. Kindly suggest an I2C-based component that meets these requirements.

Hi Rishika,

I would like to seek your advice regarding the placement of the high-side switch and INA228. Is it feasible to position the INA228 after the high-side switch? Since we need to measure the sleep current to the load, which is on a separate board, please let me know if this configuration would pose any issues.

Hi Virali,

Sorry, I missed that key point. None of our high side switches are I2C compatible. The TPS2HCS10-Q1 is SPI controlled. Can I help provide any other solutions?

Hi Virali,

So, you are already using a TPS1H000-Q1 to control power to the INA228 and need another switch from the INA228 to the load? If that is the case and absolutely need an I2C device due to the INA/I2C, then we do not have a solution that is I2C compatible.
