TPS25830A-Q1: Other Fault Scenario

Part Number: TPS25830A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team,

We are using TPS25830AQWRHBRQ1  in out Board. but in those few of the boards alone shows the fault signal indication.

But we could not see Fault in the below section

  1. Output Voltage (Short or Over Voltage)
  2. CC Pins (Short or Over Voltage)
  3. USB D+ and D- (Short or Over Voltage)
  4. Current Sense resistor is good

Upon seeing everything is good we ran out of Debug points.

Can you please suggest us other Debug points. ?

  • Hi Jay,

Is the fault asserted as soon as you turn the system on?  Or are you loading the port in any way?

I am reviewing your schematic that was shared via e-mail and nothing stands out.  You are on the right track with what you've been testing.

Just a few ideas - are you in client mode or CDP mode (Is CTRL1 low or high)?  If in CDP mode, are you able to charge a Type-C device on the port?  What if you toggle the EN pin?

    Regards,
    Eric
