Hi TI experts,

I have a few questions for TPS748A.

1. Confused with Vdropout spec in datasheet. With BIAS connected to 5V, does the Vdrop satisfy for 3.3V to 2.5V, 2.5V to 1.8V, 1.8V to 1.2V, and 1.8V to 1.0V applications?

2. Is feed-forward capacitor needed or not? If a FF cap is needed, which value should be used?

Hey Neo,

1. With a 5V bias dropout should be max about 135mV. The conditions you provided have ample amounts of headroom to maintain proper regulation.

2. feed-forward capacitor is not needed.

Hi,

One follow up question:

If using 3.3Vin and combine Vin and BIAS together, can it output 2.5V and 1.2V respectively?

Hey Neo,

There will not be enough headroom for proper regulation, with VOUT=2.5V. The 1.2V VOUT will have sufficient headroom.
