TLA432: When using TLA432(Shunt Regulator) as a comparator, is there a reason why it need to insert a series resistor(Rin) into the reference pin of the TLA432?

Part Number: TLA432

Tool/software:

Hi, I am a Korean engineer.

Please forgive me for not writing in fluent English.

When using TLA432
(Shunt Regulator) as a comparator,is there a reason why it need to insert a series resistor(Rin) into the reference pin of the TLA432?

Isn't the input resistance of the reference pin of TLA432 high impedance?
When I remove the resistor and apply voltage from 0V to 5V to the reffernce pin of the TLA432, I find that the current increases proportionally.
If resistance is needed, would it be okay to use a low resistance of about 240 ohms? (at reference input voltage Vin 5V)
Is there a formula for selecting resistance values?

Are there any other differences in characteristics depending on the resistance value?
