TLV840: Alternative for Rohm BD5328FVE-TR reset IC

Guru 14080 points

Part Number: TLV840

Hi,

We have been using the Rohm BD5328FVE-TR reset IC, but since it is going EOL, we are looking for a Texas Instruments alternative.
https://fscdn.rohm.com/en/products/databook/datasheet/ic/power/voltage_detector/bd52xxg-e.pdf

The required specifications are:

  • CMOS output

  • Reset threshold voltage: 2.8 V

  • Adjustable delay time with an external capacitor

  • Package: Rohm VSOF5 (we understand that package compatibility may be difficult, but would like to confirm)

Could you please suggest if there are any TI devices that would be suitable as an alternative?

Thanks,

Conor

  • Hi Conor,

Currently, our only supervisor with a similar package to BD5328FVE-TR is TPS3842, which is currently only available with an open drain output.

TPS3840PL28DBVR is a suitable alternative to BD5328FVE-TR. It has a push-pull active-low reset output, 2.8V threshold, and capacitor adjustable delay in a 5-pin SOT-23 package. Compared to BD5328FVE-TR, TPS3840PL28DBVR has lower supply current, wider operating temperature range, and better accuracy across the full temperature range.
