UCC5350: Device and application recommendation

Hi,

Could you recommend the device for below requirement?

 1) Working voltage : 900V

 2) Fsw : 100~150kHz

 3) Device : 1200V SiC MOSFET

 4) Topology : Half bridge

There are 2 consideration with UCC5350 and UCC21550.

Please check best fit device and check the availability of below considerations.

UCC5350: use 2 units with 2 supplies and add dead time circuit at high side and low side input. will use the dead time in both of DSP and driver.

UCC21550: 2 power supplies. for example, 18VA, -3VA@VDDA, VSSA.  18VB, -3VB@VDDB, VSSB

    Hi David,

    Both devices would be able to suit these system requirements. If you have any other must-haves such as split outputs or a CLAMP pin, then UCC5350 would be the option that can satisfy those. However, if these are the only requirements for your system, it would most likely be more cost-effective to implement one UCC21550 device instead of two UCC5350 devices.
