BQ25750: BQ25750 autonomous operation versos I2C (MCU) operation

Part Number: BQ25750

Hello,

I belive this is typical application and strait forward, but I would like to ask anyway

for our application required to have first autonomous charging while the control board with the MCU is OFF and after while the control board is ON we would like to switch to fully controlled charging with the MCU thru the I2C.

My qustions are,

can the HW resistor setting, say 1A charging current and after changed to higher via the I2C say 4A?

what is the default status of the BQ watchdog?

And, can the status LED BQ (or other BQ LED/ GPIO) can direct control LED autonomous, blink for charging and lit for full charge or similar?

  • Hello Shachar,

can the HW resistor setting, say 1A charging current and after changed to higher via the I2C say 4A?

Yes, this is possible by setting the bit ICHG_REG=4A and the bit EN_ICHG_PIN=0.

what is the default status of the BQ watchdog?

    40s.

And, can the status LED BQ (or other BQ LED/ GPIO) can direct control LED autonomous, blink for charging and lit for full charge or similar?

You can see Table 8-6 for the default settings for the LEDs. You can also disable the stat pins and force the LEDs ON and OFF. With this, you can program the LEDs to function how your system needs the LEDs.
