LM5066H: LM5066x - Bidirectional application

We would like to use the LM5066 in a ~40A bidirectional application, where current is measured and protected in both direction, such as in a battery source with reverse current charging. Do you see any issues in using two back-to-back LM5066H in the manner shown in the image? They would share a single Rsns but each have a FET.

Both LM5066H would be fed by "Vrail" which is an always on supply. Can VIN be supplied by another lower voltage?

On a related topic, is the TPS4812-Q1 capable of overcurrent protection in both current directions?

    TPS4812-Q1 provides protection in one direction but provides current monitoring in both directions

    What is the end product, application ?

    Two LM5066H can be made to work to meet your requirement. Where does the other end of MOSFETs connect to ? Can you share full connections including battery
