Upgrading from bq20z90 V110 to bq20z90 V150

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z90

Hi,

I had a couple of questions about upgrading to the bq20z90 v150.

1.  If one is just upgrading from the v110 to the v150 does one need to recreate the .senc file?

2.  If the cell chemistry remains the same, can one just manually replace the values of the v110 golden .gg file into the data flash of v150 part where appropriate (where they match exactly) to make the upgrade as quick as possible?

Any issues in doing this way?

Thank you,

  • Hi Jackie,

Thank you for the quick response, but the link seems to be broken.  I copy the link into my browser and get the following message "Group Not Found".  Is there another way to get to the information.  Thanks.

  • Customer needs to re-create the golden image (dfi or rom file) for every new FW revision. For golden senc file, follow the same procedure below and at step 4, read out a senc file using EVSW.

    To do so, they can

    1. Load the original golden image, and read out the gg file

    2. Read out the gg file of the new FW revision and check if there is any new DF parameter added/removed in the new revision. If so, update (add or remove the DF parameters) the golden gg file from step 1 accordingly.

    3. Start from the default new FW revision, update chemistry, then program the updated golden gg file from step 2

    4. Read out the dfi or rom file from step3. This is the new golden image for the new FW revision.

  • Thank you!  This helped.
