BQ25790: Operation without battery

When I operate the BQ25790 without a battery, a spike occurs in the system voltage. In my environment, this occurs about every 1.5 seconds. Is it possible for this to occur more frequently than 1.5 seconds? Is there any way to prevent this other than turning off the charging function?

    Hi Yusuke,

    If you cannot turn off the charger with /CE pin or CE bit or TS fault due to missing thermistor, then the only way to eliminate the spike when no battery present is to increase the capacitance on BAT pin to about 200uF.  Changing the capacitance on either SYS or BAT will also change the frequency.  Lowering the VRCH deglitch and/or VRCH threshold in REG0x0A will also change the frequency.
