TPS92638-Q1: Verification of Schematic

Part Number: TPS92638-Q1

Hi Sir/Madam,

This is Vishaal working as an Hardware engineer. We have completed the circuit design of LED Driver IC by using TPS92638QPWPRQ1. The Vf of LED is 3V, Battery Voltage is 12V and LED current is 11mA (we want 6 LEDs in parallel). Kindly review the Schematic and component values used. Let us know your comments of the circuit at the earliest.

  • Hi Vishal,

I have reviewed the schematic and don't see any concerns. The hall sensor output matches the device input low and high thresholds correctly. I see the LED output current is set to your desired 11mA with 22k ohm R_REF.

Could you confirm, how quickly will the hall effect sensor be switching EN/PWM pins?

    Best,
    Isaiah

  • Hi Isaiah,

Thank you for the quick verification of the Schematic. So the Magnetic Sensor (DRV5033FAEDBZRQ1) ton (Power on time) is 35us and td (Output time delay) is 1us. The Valid output from EN/PWM Pins will be after 36us. Hope the circuit is designed as per the recommended guidelines given in the datasheet.

    Thanks,

    Vishaal S

  • Hello Vishal,

Was just looking to check if the hall sensor is running at a frequency not suitable for EN pin, which doesn't seem to be the case.

I'm seeing the Td spec is 25us max or 13us typical.

    Best,
    Isaiah

  • Hi Isaiah,

In our application we are not using this for PWM Dimming in LED. We will drive the LED with only 11mA of current (Constant Brightness when LED is ON). Hope so the delay time is considered for dimming purpose only so, thinking this Ton and Td will not be affecting our application as it is either Turning on or off the LED when sensing magnet.

    Thank you,

    Vishaal S

  • Hi Vishaal,

Okay, thanks for clarifying. Please let me know if there are any further questions, I'll be closing the thread for now.

    Best,
    Isaiah
