TPS40055: Can the TPS40057 be substituted in an application using the TPS40055

We have an existing product using the TPS40055 with no issues.

Can the TPS40057 can be substuted as a direct replacement in this case for the TPS40055 with no issues? The reason is for derisking supply chain management.

I understand the only difference is that the TPS40057 can handle Vout prebias. Is this mainly for battery charging applications where you have a battery connected at the output, before the device is powered ?
