Part Number: TPS922050
Hello guys,
One of my customers is considering using TPS922050.
At this moment, they have the following question.
Could you please give me your reply?
Q.
Can TPS922050 control LED current by On duty of PWM signal input to DIM pin using D1 version?
I think the answer is yes because the dimming linearrity and efficiency graph on page1
of TPS922050 datasheet show PWM duty cycle (%) vs Output current data (A).
But The datasheet says that at 7.3.4.1 PWM Dimming on page 13.
"When the PWM input signal at the DIM pin turns from low to high, the internal NMOS FET starts switching and the inductor current rises to the determined value set by sense resistor. ..... The internal FET maintains off and the LED current stays zero as long as the PWM input signal stays low."
I think this is a simple PWM dimming method.
Which is correct, the dimming linearrity and efficiency graph on page1 or this explanation?
Your reply would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Kazuya.
