TPS1653: Output short, IC damage

hi sir 

we use the TPS16530  To be the power protect, verify  as below

I shorted the TPS16530 circuit output to the gorund, and IC was burn out.

Please help to figure out the problem is.

    Hi Chen,

    Do you have waveform?

    Because of PCB path inductance and L1 inductor present at output, VOUT can go negative and violate the device -ve abs max.

    You can probe the VOUT while doing short circuit to check that. I would recommend using Schottky diode like output.
