LM185-1.2-N: Need the difference between part LM185- 1.2/NOPB and LM185BYH-1.2/NOPB

Part Number: LM185-1

Hi Team,

We are looking for alternate for the part LM185- 1.2/NOPB and we found the alternate part LM185BYH-1.2/NOPB. But we have a query regarding the difference between the part nomenclature and also what 'BYH' denotes in alternate part?

Looking forward for your response.

Best Regards,

Balu

  • Hi Balu,

LM185-1.2-N is generally not recommended, we have a much newer device, LM4041 which is a better alternative to LM185-1.2-N.

With that said, the meaning of BYH is as follows:

The BY represents grade of the device, with BY having temperature coefficient of 50ppm/C.

The H represents the device is in the TO-CAN package.

  • Hi Henry,

    Thanks for the info.

Regarding the part number LM185- 1.2/NOPB, can you provide the data for die package footprint? Because the data for die package is not available in the datasheet. As per our information the part is not with TO package. Also suggest part number alternate for the part with die package?

    Regards,

    Balu

  • Hi Balu,

LM185- 1.2/NOPB is not a valid part number. There should be additional characters which tell the package of the device. Details on packaging is given in the LM185-1.2-N datasheet on pages 13 through 15.

LM4041 is available in SOT-23, SC70, and TO-92 packages. The exact part number depends on the package, accuracy, and temperature coefficient required by your application. If you can provide this information I can make a recommendation on the exact part number of LM4041.
