BQ25792: EMI/EMC filter design

Part Number: BQ25792

Dear Team, we are using battery charging ic for one of the application we want you to recommend the emi filter part number which will with stand to MIL-STD-461/G.

  • Hi Bharath,

Unfortunately, we don't have any data on filter sizing for mitigating conductive emissions. Other customers have used common mode chokes like 744273801 on the input.

For mitigating radiated emissions, I took EMI data using the BQ25792EVM and found that the EVM's careful placement of the 0.1uF and bulk caps on PMID and SYS mitigated EMI to the CISPR spec.  You can always add an RC snubber on SWx but the components' sizes are PCB layout dependent.  I wrote an app note years ago on how to take some empirical measurements to help size the RC snubber without reducing efficiency too much. https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slva255
