TPS7A8300: TPS7A8300RGRT startup time issue

Part Number: TPS7A8300

Hi Team,

We are expiriancing startup issues at -40c with the TPS7A8300,

The maximum startup time (the time until the PG pin asserts '1') should be 10 mSec.

Our system is designed to wait $10mSec after the EN pin is set high, and then check if the PG (Power Good) pin is equal to '1'.

We are observing a temperature dependency in the startup time:

  • At 25C: The PG pin asserts '1' within the required 10 msec
  • At -40C : The PG pin is set to '1' significantly after 10 msec

The operating parameters are:

  • Input Voltage : 1.8V
  • Output Voltage: 1.2V
  • Output Current : 0.8V

I ran a simulation in TINA and observed a very short delay of 40µs from EN (Enable) to PG (Power Good) going high.

any ideas why dost the start up is so long at -40c?

  • Hello Ohad,

Would it be possible to provide scope shots of the input, output, enable, and PG in the 25C and -40C scenarios?

The photo that was supposed to be attached here also did not work. can you please add that to the original post or reply with it as well?

    Regards,
