Hi Team,

I am currently working on the simulation of the LM5116 and using an N-channel MOSFET from the IRF series. While the schematic symbol for the IRF series is available in PSpice, I am unable to find the corresponding library from library folder

Since I need to use this specific MOSFET series for my simulation, could you please provide the library file for the IRF series MOSFETs or guide me on where I can obtain it?

Hi,

I am facing an issue with the PSpice library. Initially, the required component is available in the library; however, after a library update or change, it is no longer present.

To avoid this issue, could you please suggest an N-channel MOSFET part number that is already included in the default PSpice library and does not require adding any external library?

The required specifications are:

VDS ≥ 100 V
Drain current ≥ 50 A

I have already reviewed the reference link and downloaded the library file. However, after adding it as an external library, I am encountering issues while using it. I have attached the error file for your reference.

Your support in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Sonika

As far as I know, all MOSFET models in the PSPICE library can be used for your simulation without importing an external library. I guess there is an issue in your laptop or you may have to re-install PSPICE.

LM5116_TRANS.zip works well without any modification in my laptop.

Please re-install your PSPICE-FOR-TI. Please don't re-install what you have in your laptop. Please 1) erase the existing, 2) re-boot your laptop, 3) go to https://www.ti.com/tool/PSPICE-FOR-TI, 4) download the latest version ,5) re-install the file which you downloaded, 6) re-boot your laptop again.

I believe you haven't perfectly uninstalled the previous version when installing the latest PSPICE-FOR-TI. Or you haven't uninstalled the previous version, but installed two PSPICE simulators into one laptop.

1) Uninstall the existing PSPICE simulators

2) Re-boot your laptop

3) Go to https://www.ti.com/tool/PSPICE-FOR-TI and download the latest version

4) Install the file which you downloaded

5) Re-boot your laptop again.

Thank you for your instructions.

I would like to inform you that I have already followed all the steps you mentioned. As per your guidance, I first uninstalled PSPICE, then rebooted the laptop. After that, I downloaded the latest version of PSPICE-for-TI from the TI website, installed it, and rebooted the system again.

However, despite completing all these steps, the issue with the MOSFET library is still not resolved.

Please let me know if there are any additional steps I should try to fix this issue.

I think some configuration files left in your registry when you uninstall the old version, but I am not able to find the solution how to fix it. If it is okay, please use the simple voltage controlled switch model for simulation. Please download the example schematic here https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvmdi1 , copy the voltage controlled switch including diode in parallel, and paste them onto your schematic.
