UCC5390-Q1: Rise time & Fall time testing details

Part Number: UCC5390-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC5350-Q1

Hi Team,

I am looking for pratical test data information for Pulse rise time (tr) & Pulse fall time (tf) with Miller clamp option. As it was mentioned in datasheet w.r.t Capacitive load we have, but i am also looking w.r.t different switching frequcies. Do we have that information?

 - Can we expect lower rise/fall time than mentioned values?

 - Do we have better IC with rise/fall time in same series with single supply output for 10A preferred?

  • Hi Vivek,

The rise and fall times should be unaffected by switching frequency. In order to decrease the rise/fall times, you can reduce the load capacitance as well as the gate resistor, and this will allow the output to rise/fall faster.

We currently do not offer any single channel isolated gate drivers similar to UCC53x0 with faster rise times. Based on your requirements and the rise/fall times table, it looks like UCC5350-Q1 may be the best fit for your needs, since it is able to achieve up to 10A peak source/sink current.

    Best regards,

    Will
