LM317: LM317DCYRG3, FAIL

Part Number: LM317

TI LM317DCYRG3,  CFT test failed, the reason was that the
actual output voltage of LDO was higher than the designed voltage, 4PCS
Were tested, 1PCS passed and 3pcs failed.1023082-2-A CFT Test Failure Analysis Report_Dec.24,2025.pdf
  • Hi Huan,

    • What is the load on the device when this is tested?
      • I say this because the LM317 output will start rising if it is below the minimum load. See the spike right before 0 on a graph I had previously taken
      • For this part this is typically is 3.5mA:
      • And the feedback network looks like it will only load a third of that (1.25mA).
        • Therefore, without any additional load on the 1.65V rail, the output of the LDO is expected to be higher
      • Because the real minimum load is a slightly different value on every chip, this could explain the ABA test results following the chip.
    • What action are you looking for here?

    Best,

    Gregory Thompson
