PMP23338: TI solution / reference design for bidirectional AC/DC + bidirectional isolated DC/DC system

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP

Hi,

We are evaluating a bidirectional digital power system and would like to understand what TI solutions or reference designs are available for a configuration similar to the following:

System concept:

  1. Bidirectional AC/DC stage

    • Totem-pole bridgeless PFC topology

    • Bidirectional operation (PFC mode and grid-tied inverter mode)

  2. Bidirectional isolated DC/DC stage

    • Dual Active Bridge (DAB) topology

    • Bidirectional power flow with digital control

The target power level is in the multi-kW range, and the system is intended for applications such as energy storage systems, bidirectional power converters, or similar industrial power platforms.

Could you please advise:

  1. Which TI reference designs (TIDM / PMP / TIDA) are closest to this architecture?

  2. Whether TI has a recommended controller platform (for example, C2000) to manage both stages in a coordinated manner?

  3. How TI would typically propose a system-level solution for this type of bidirectional architecture?

Any guidance, reference materials, or recommended starting points from TI would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Conor
