Hello TI Team,

I have a few questions regarding the VF/GPIO digital diagnostic measurement on the BQ79731.

As per the datasheet, a waiting time of 100 ms is required for the VF/GPIO diagnostic measurement. I would appreciate your clarification on the following points:

Q1. During the VF/GPIO digital diagnostic measurement (i.e., within the 100 ms wait period), is it possible to perform other ADC measurements in parallel, or are all ADC measurements blocked/suspended during this time?

Q2. Is it required to freeze ongoing measurements in order to execute the VF/GPIO digital diagnostic measurement?
If yes, could you please clarify the total time required to complete the digital diagnostic measurement for:

  • VF path

  • GPIO path

This will help us understand the impact of the diagnostic sequence on normal measurement operation.
