Part Number: TPS56A37
Hi TI team,
We are currently using TPS56A37 in our design. There is a MOSFET that connects the output rail to the downstream system.
When this load-side MOSFET turns on, a significant inrush current occurs at the TPS56A37 output. Based on the waveform measurement, it appears that the inrush current hits the high-side and/or low-side current limit for approximately 40 µs.
We would like to understand:
-
Is this behavior considered normal protection response of TPS56A37?
-
Could repeated triggering of current limit for ~40 µs cause long-term reliability concerns or potential damage to the device?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Tom
