Part Number: TPS62918
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM82916
Hi Team,
Can the TPS62918 output a negative voltage? For example, 10V to -5V at 6A?
If yes, could you help share the design guide?
Regards,
Sky

Hi Team,
The input is 10V, vout is -5V , Iout is 6A.

Hello Sky,
Yes the TPS62918 can support 10V to -5V @ 6A. Please be aware that 6A is right on the upper limit of current capability in IBB. I estimate that at 2.2MHz fsw and 1uH inductor you will be pushing about 10.8A peak inductor current. The minimum limit spec is 11A. I am using worst case efficiency to estimate this so you should be okay and you could tune the inductor for a little more headroom if needed
Here is an app note for IBB design of another device in the same family https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvuc22/slvuc22.pdf?ts=1772205553170&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Ftool%252FTPS62913-IBB-EVM

Hello Britton,
Thanks for your help.

Hello Sky,
1. No the filter does not require special design, with the exception of the IBB modifications
2. We only have a module in the 6A package, TPSM82916
3. The device is not stackable
I will reach out over email to further discuss this opportunity. Closing this thread
Best regards,
Britton
