bq27505-J4 GG file applicable to the new J5 version

I used BQ27505-J4 on my previous design. Since its replaced by BQ27505-J5, we have to use version J5 on our new design which is based on the old design and I don’t want to go thru a new learning cycle again.

Is it OK to write the old Dataflash file eg ABC.gg to J5 hardware? I used BQEasy GUI and loaded the old .gg file as shown below Click of Data Flash Tab

Write All

Now if I read the DataFlash registers using BQEasy (clicking Read All on BQeasy), the values are correct as expected

Is this good enough?

Note that I’m not actually updating the DFI file ie ABC.dfi but ABC.gg
